Viewed a fascinating video on the “Map of Mathematics” today which outlined how the multitudinous fields of mathematics all fit together like a giant jig saw puzzle. It is always difficult for school age kids to understand how pure mathematics have any relevance to reality. The video provides the connection between pure and applied mathematics.
