According to the Rs, we will all soon be rolling in giant piles of gold like Scrooge McDuck.
And according to the Ds, we will all soon be stuck picking cotton in the fields and scrounging through trash cans for uneaten McDonalds hamburgers.
I can also assure you that if the Ds were in power, you could just reverse the argument.
The reality is that, as always, the truth is in the middle somewhere and we will all continue to bitch no matter who is in power.
In physics class, we learned about a property of matter called “inertia”. Inertia is the resistance of any physical object to any change in its state of motion.
This property has also been used in political science to describe societal change. The best predictor of the state of a system at time T+1 is the state of the system at time T.
